Job Summary

This role involves maintaining and repairing critical DC and compensation systems across 50Hertz's entire grid area in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing maintenance tasks, including testing, measurement, and cleaning of DC (HVDC) and compensation systems (Statcom, MSCDN, rotating phase shifters). This position requires extensive travel within the network area, often with overnight stays, to ensure minimal downtime and maximum system availability. It offers the opportunity to contribute directly to Germany's energy transition, work with modern measurement technology, and take on significant responsibility in a dynamic environment, with potential for growth and specialization in areas like technical guidance or tool development.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training / Master Craftsman / Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering, Operations/Measurement/Control/Regulation Technology, or Mechatronics, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in maintenance, including electrical systems/installations
  • Professional experience with common work equipment (measurement and testing technology, work platforms, load handling equipment) (advantageous)
  • Initial knowledge of DC systems / compensation systems / power plant-related auxiliary systems (advantageous)

  • Valid driver's license (minimum Class B). Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays, within the 50Hertz grid area (eastern German states and Hamburg). Willingness to participate in on-call duty for remote and on-site fault resolution.
