Job Summary
This role is for an experienced IT Specialist focusing on network and communication infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, administration, and troubleshooting of the city's Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure across approximately 220 locations, including core, access, and data center components. Key responsibilities also include managing network transitions (firewall, NAT, proxy), wireless LAN infrastructure, and external/internal network lines. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a hands-on mentality, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Diploma FH) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications, Engineering, or comparable qualification; alternatively, proven equivalent skills and experience through long-term relevant professional experience. Certifications like CCNA/CCNP are desirable.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in an IT environment with central data center operations
- Experience with firewall/proxy systems (desirable)
- Experience with controller-based Wireless LAN infrastructure (desirable)
- Experience in monitoring complex environments (desirable)
- Experience in participating in, planning, and executing network projects (desirable)

- Permanent employment contract. Full-time position (39 hours/week), part-time possible by arrangement. Work location in Lübeck, Germany. Eligibility for public sector employment (TVöD EG 11). Mobile work and telework options available.
