Job Summary
This leadership role involves overseeing the Building, Planning, and Environment department within the municipality of Dörverden, a scenic community in Lower Saxony. The successful candidate will manage a team of 18 employees across administration, the municipal building yard, and the wastewater treatment plant. Key responsibilities include strategic planning for urban development, managing municipal properties, infrastructure, green spaces, climate and energy initiatives, and the local wastewater facility. This position requires a proactive and responsible leader with a cooperative management style, capable of motivating staff, handling complex issues, and making autonomous decisions. It offers the chance to actively contribute to departmental and municipal changes, implementing innovative ideas to achieve community goals and address future challenges. The role demands close collaboration with the municipal leadership team and political decision-makers, including participation in evening committee meetings.
Required Skills
Education
Civil service qualification for career group 2, first entry-level, General Services specialization, or successful completion of Angestelltenlehrgang II (Certified Administrative Specialist)
Experience
- Several years of experience in a municipal administration
- Experience in a comparable leadership role within a municipal administration (advantageous)
- Relevant professional experience in the specified task areas with comprehensive and versatile technical knowledge (advantageous)
