Job Summary

This role involves building, maintaining, and strategically advancing the municipal geodata infrastructure (GDI). The specialist will operate and enhance geodata services and portals, contribute to the conception and implementation of Geo-AI projects for automated object recognition and AI-supported analysis of point clouds and image data, and evaluate and implement suitable Geo-AI tools. A key part of the job is networking geodata with sensor data, real-time information, and specialized systems, while collaborating with internal departments and external partners to provide geodata. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact on urban development through innovative geoinformatics and AI applications, ensuring a secure and flexible work environment within the public service.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) / Bachelor) in Geoinformatics or qualification for career group 2, 1st entry level of surveying technical service.

Experience

  • Professional experience with OGC standards, INSPIRE directive, geodata services, and metadata management
  • Good knowledge in 3D geodata, point cloud processing, and their use for urban models or specialized applications
  • Experience with evaluation and processing of point clouds (e.g., classification, feature extraction, derivation of terrain models, building structures)
  • Practical experience with point cloud tools and formats (e.g., LAZ/LAS, Potree, CloudCompare, Entwine, PDAL)
  • Practical experience or interest in AI applications in a GIS environment (e.g., image analysis, classifications)
