Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated professional to manage and evolve the data center operations for a public institution. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous development of data center infrastructure, including planning, redesign, and implementation of future-proof data center locations. Key responsibilities involve administering PDUs and network infrastructure, monitoring system performance, and supporting emergency management. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in data center operations, strong knowledge of rackspace management, network infrastructure (especially switches), and proficiency with documentation and CMDB systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause within a supportive team environment, providing strategic advice and coordinating with external service providers.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma/Bachelor) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field; OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist, IT Management Assistant, or IT Systems Electronics Technician; OR comparable long-term professional experience in the specified areas.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in the operation, support, and development of data centers and associated infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of managing rackspace capacities, PDUs, and network infrastructure, especially switches
  • Proficient use of documentation and CMDB systems (e.g., i-doit, NetBox)
  • Skilled application of tools for monitoring, management, and network troubleshooting in a LAN environment
  • Basic knowledge of emergency management and experience in planning and documenting recovery processes
