Job Summary

This Research Associate position at the University of Bremen focuses on the "Transfer and Refilling Experiment (TREX)" project, developing and operating a test facility for ground and drop tower experiments. The role involves supporting the development and construction of this test facility in collaboration with experienced technical staff, and preparing project reports. The project aims to advance an experiment for the International Space Station in cooperation with an industrial partner and NASA Glenn Research Center. This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously within an interdisciplinary team, contribute to a cutting-edge research field in microgravity and multiphase flows, and engage in national and international collaborations, all while being supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Engineering, Physics, or Technical Mathematics with a very good grade.

Experience

  • Fundamental technical understanding
  • Ability to work independently in a small team
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamic processes

  • This is a fixed-term contract until June 30, 2028, subject to funding approval. The position is full-time (100%).
