Job Summary
This role is for an IT Specialist focused on IT System and Communication Technology within the Gelsenkirchen Police Department. The specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of the department's IT infrastructure, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing workstations, administering user accounts, and managing the printer landscape. A key part of the role involves providing direct user support, creating documentation, and assisting with IT reinvestment measures. The position offers an opportunity to work within a critical public service environment, ensuring the smooth operation of essential communication and information systems, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong customer orientation.
Required Skills
Education
• Completed (technical) university degree (Diplom-FH or Bachelor) in Computer Science or a comparable technical field, OR • Certified Electrical Engineer (specializing in Data Processing Technology, Network Technology, Information and Communication Technology), OR • Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist or IT System Electronics Technician
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system and communication technology (for those with vocational training)
- At least three years of service experience in a technical department (for government employees)
- Experience with Microsoft environment (Client, Server, Office Products)
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B (Class 3) driver's license
- Clean criminal record
- Willingness to participate in technical on-call duty, including outside regular service hours
- Ability to perform light physical activities (e.g., kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying)
- Sufficient eyesight
