Job Summary
Join the University of Bayreuth's Animal Ecology I department as a Technical Assistant, supporting cutting-edge ecological research, particularly in microplastic analysis. This role involves the daily care of sensitive organisms, algae cultivation, and media control, alongside assisting the team and students with various laboratory and field tasks. You'll be instrumental in preparing environmental samples for microplastic analysis, characterizing microplastics using µFTIR and ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, and working with imaging techniques for digital image analysis. The position also includes crucial organizational duties such as managing purchases, workshop activities, repairs, maintaining the chemical database, and ensuring laboratory safety. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in biological-technical assistance who is eager to contribute to significant environmental research in a supportive and dynamic university setting.
