Job Summary
This role involves leading national and international IT projects within the geotechnical environment of the K+S Group, focusing on Geoinformatics and GeoAnalytics. The consultant will develop and implement geospatial applications and services, apply heuristic and geostatistical methods for complex geological and mining optimization problems, and integrate and manage AWS services within the GIS infrastructure. Key responsibilities also include conducting data analyses and creating 2D and 3D visualizations to support decision-making, all while collaborating in interdisciplinary teams. This position offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time work, with options for home office and office presence in Kassel, making it an attractive opportunity for professionals seeking a dynamic and impactful role.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Geophysics, Geoinformatics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in Geophysics, Geoinformatics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in Java and frontend development, ideally in a GIS application environment
- Experience with Kubernetes is advantageous
- Experience in using and managing AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda) is advantageous
- Experience with geospatial data formats and technologies (e.g., GeoJSON, PostGIS) is desirable
