Job Summary

This role is for an Electrical and Telecommunications Engineer to join the Federal Building Department in Hamburg, contributing to the energy transition by managing diverse construction and maintenance projects. Day-to-day, you will independently plan and execute projects, including those with future-oriented and sustainable technical approaches, and implement designs for electrical and information technology systems. A key part of the role involves commissioning and overseeing external planning and engineering firms, ensuring quality, conducting site inspections, and advising clients on technical building matters, including energy efficiency and renewable energy. This position offers the chance to work on significant federal properties, from historic buildings to major new constructions, and requires a commitment to a security clearance.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field; or equivalent skills and experience; or for civil servants, qualification for career group 2, first entry-level of technical services.

Experience

  • Initial professional experience in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering
  • Experience in applying relevant regulations and norms (e.g., RBBau, HOAI, VOB/A (EU), UVgO, GWB, DIN standards) or motivation to learn
