Job Summary

This role is for a Digitalization Coordinator to lead and coordinate digitalization and administrative modernization projects within the Federal Foreign Office's service center, the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs (BfAA), located in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining IT and digitalization strategies, managing IT annual planning, and overseeing the implementation and enhancement of digital processes, including AI and e-government services. A key aspect of the role involves project leadership for cross-departmental digitalization initiatives and establishing comprehensive information security and IT emergency management systems. This position offers the opportunity to actively contribute to the setup of a new, internationally oriented federal authority, shaping Germany's image globally through innovative digital solutions.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master or equivalent) in Administrative Informatics, Informatics, Business Informatics, Engineering Sciences for Information and Communication Technology, Information Security, or a comparable field with a focus on IT-Security Management or IT-Management; OR University degree (Master or equivalent) in Administrative Sciences or Business Administration; OR Qualification for higher technical or non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • At least two years of professional experience in digitalization or IT projects or in administration
  • Proven knowledge or professional experience in IT, requirements, or project management
  • Leadership experience (technical and personnel guidance of a staff unit)

Languages

German (Fluent)English (Basic)

Additional

  • German or EU/EFTA citizenship required. Willingness to undergo a security clearance (SÜ1). Certification as an IT Security Officer in public administration (e.g., CISA, CISM, CompTIA Security) is a plus. Relocation costs from domestic residence to Brandenburg reimbursed. Participation in selection interviews expected from July 17, 2025.
