Job Summary

As a Materials Laboratory Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and integrity of materials throughout the production lifecycle for a leading automotive supplier. Your daily tasks will involve conducting sophisticated metallographic examinations, including microstructure assessment, spectral analysis, and residual dirt analysis, as well as determining case hardening, nitriding, and induction hardening depths. You will also apply various non-destructive testing methods like magnetic particle inspection and dye penetrant testing, perform hardness tests, and create measurement programs. This role requires a high degree of precision, problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide material support for production, conduct material analyses for incoming goods, and generate comprehensive test reports. Required Skills

Education

Vocational or technical training in materials technology / material testing, preferably with a specialization in metal; alternatively, a completed apprenticeship as a toolmaker, precision mechanic, chemical laboratory technician, or similar.
