Job Summary
This senior role as a Construction Economist, working for the Vaud Cantonal Directorate of Architecture and Buildings, involves ensuring the economic feasibility and quality of major construction and transformation projects across the canton. You will act as key financial support for project management, conducting feasibility studies, performing economic and financial analysis, and ensuring strict adherence to allocated budgets and financial regulations (LFin, SIA standards, public procurement). A crucial aspect of this position is guaranteeing the financial quality of construction operations in line with sustainable development principles. This is an attractive opportunity for a highly experienced professional with 10 years in building economics, including 5 years in a senior project management capacity, who possesses expertise in complex financial systems and regulatory compliance within the public sector. Success requires strong methodical skills, autonomy, and excellent relational abilities to represent the Directorate to internal and external partners.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (EPF, HES, or equivalent) in construction fields, complemented by a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Building Economics or equivalent financial training.
Experience
- 10 years of professional experience as a Building Economist in a specialized company.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager.
- Excellent knowledge of project management, architecture, sustainable development, economics, and planning.
- Proficiency in public procurement procedures and SIA standards.

- Must ensure compliance with cantonal financial regulations (LFin, DGIP, SAGEFI) and represent the Directorate to Vaud State services and external partners. Requires a high degree of autonomy, rigor, and methodical approach. This is a permanent contract (CDI) role, 80-100%.
