Job Summary

This part-time, fixed-term PhD position in Molecular Cell Biology focuses on neurodegenerative diseases and the interplay between the nervous and immune systems, specifically investigating ubiquitin-regulated signaling processes. The successful candidate will conduct research on phase transitions of ubiquitin-binding proteins and their role in protein quality control, utilizing biophysical and biochemical in vitro methods, cell culture assays, and advanced light microscopy. Day-to-day tasks include DNA cloning, protein expression and purification, biochemical assays, and establishing cellular models using CRISPR/Cas9. The role also involves participation in teaching activities, such as supervising internships and students. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in biochemistry and cell biology to contribute to cutting-edge research within the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV.
