Job Summary
This role involves conducting material characterization of prototype and first sample components, as well as independently performing systematic damage analysis in development and field findings. The Materials Engineer will support international development projects within the TRATON Group by providing material analyses and consultation, and will also assist with supplier qualifications alongside internal and external development partners. Additionally, the position includes overseeing basic projects within the materials technology roadmap and creating/revising component and material standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of TRATON Group R&D, working with a global organization and contributing to innovation across brands like Scania, MAN, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Materials Technology, or equivalent qualification. Ideally, a certification as an International Welding Engineer.
Experience
- Professional experience in materials engineering
- Experience in independently conducting and evaluating damage analyses on metallic components
