Job Summary
The City of Ratzeburg is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in Underground Construction, preferably with a focus on urban water management, environmental, or wastewater treatment technology. This role involves managing the city's wastewater division, including a large wastewater treatment plant, extensive sewer systems, and numerous pumping stations. Key responsibilities include prioritizing sewer rehabilitation, modernizing technical facilities, investment planning, and optimizing energy towards self-sufficiency using renewable energies. The successful candidate will also act as a water protection officer and participate in political committee meetings. This position offers a varied and responsible role within the public service, with opportunities for professional development and the potential to lead a team of 11 employees.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Civil Engineering - Underground Construction (preferably with specialization in urban water management, environmental, or wastewater treatment technology) or comparable degree; alternatively, a certified Civil Engineering Technician with several years of professional experience in urban water management.
Experience
- Professional experience in urban water management (desirable)
- Experience with wastewater treatment, sewerage, and sewer rehabilitation
- Knowledge of relevant legal bases and regulations
