Job Summary

This role involves leading and managing the Water Management Department, ensuring the effective implementation of water law regulations and the achievement of departmental objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of staff, including setting work goals, coordinating personnel for efficient task fulfillment, and conducting performance reviews. A key part of the role is making complex water law decisions, especially concerning water rights, flood plain designations, and the implementation of the Water Framework Directive. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to environmental protection and sustainable water management within the Erzgebirgskreis region, working in a modern public administration setting.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed studies in Public Administration/Bachelor of Public Sector Management, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), or a degree in Public Administration (Diplom-Verwaltungswirt); alternatively, a completed apprenticeship as an Administrative Assistant with a successful further qualification as an Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt), Administrative Business Economist (VWA), or Municipal Specialist (SKVS); or a university degree (Bachelor) or a successfully completed qualification as a Legal Specialist (Rechtsfachwirt).

Experience

  • Professional experience in water management, water law, or public administration
  • Leadership experience in a professional context
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the specified area if holding a Bachelor's degree or Legal Specialist qualification
