Job Summary

This role is for an Applied Scientist focused on Assortment Risk Management, aiming to enhance customer experience by identifying and mitigating issues like incomplete product information or discrepancies between product images and actual items. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the team's roadmap, collaborating with product managers and engineers to develop and productionize state-of-the-art anomaly detection systems. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing, prototyping, and owning the full development cycle of algorithms, iteratively improving models, and streamlining analysis processes. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, and a proactive approach to exploring new data sources and problem-solving methodologies. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or above (PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline with a strong theoretical foundation in machine learning methodologies.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of industry experience in developing anomaly detection and risk scoring using statistical methods and machine learning techniques
  • 1 year of industry experience with a PhD degree in developing anomaly detection and risk scoring using statistical methods and machine learning techniques
  • Extensive experience with Python and its associated data science libraries, including writing production quality code
  • Professional experience with Databricks/Spark (plus)
