Job Summary
This role as a Chemical Laboratory Technician at the Zweibrücken Correctional Facility involves crucial work in forensic analysis and drug detection. Day-to-day, you'll be preparing and describing evidence samples, conducting preliminary analyses using portable Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS), interpreting results, and managing the anonymous dispatch and documentation of urine controls for forensic toxicology. A key part of the job also includes supporting and delivering training for correctional officers across Rhineland-Palatinate in drug detection methods. This position is ideal for someone with a meticulous approach to lab work, practical knowledge of relevant lab techniques, and a strong sense of responsibility, contributing directly to the facility's resocialization efforts and public safety.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., Chemical Laboratory Technician)
Experience
- Professional experience in handling minute substance quantities/traces
- Practical knowledge in relevant laboratory techniques and measurement procedures
- Experience with electronic documentation systems
- Experience with psychoactive substances (medications, controlled substances, NPS)
- Experience in cooperating with various authorities
- Ability to impart specialized knowledge in an educational setting
