Job Summary

This role at the State Agency for Nature, Environment, and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia (LANUK) offers a unique opportunity for a Chemist to lead or contribute to a critical project focused on microplastic analysis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing new sampling and analytical techniques for microplastics in various environmental matrices, particularly in wastewater and surface water, in response to new EU regulations. Day-to-day tasks involve coordinating and reporting on analytical work, researching new developments, building professional networks, and presenting findings at scientific events. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom, Master of Science, Magister) in Chemistry or a comparable relevant field of study aligned with the job's focus.

Experience

  • Demonstrated competence in analytical chemistry
  • Professional experience and/or a thesis on instrumental analysis or microplastic research is advantageous
  • Practical experience with microplastic analysis in the environment is advantageous
  • Practical experience in environmental analysis is advantageous
  • Experience with scientific project work is advantageous
