Job Summary
The GWDG is seeking a proactive Storage Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team. This role involves maintaining and evolving petabyte-scale mass storage environments that support a wide range of applications, including file services, virtualization, container architectures (Kubernetes), and high-performance research applications. The successful candidate will independently conceptualize and develop these environments, optimize processes through automation (Infrastructure-as-Code), and provide expert consultation and project management for internal and external clients. Required Skills
Education
Completed technical university degree (Master/Diploma) or completed vocational training with adequate professional experience
Experience
- Professional experience in ensuring stable and high-quality operation of mass storage environments
- Experience in conceptualizing and developing storage environments
- Experience with process optimization through automation (Infrastructure-as-Code)
- Experience in advising clients and managing projects
- Experience in 2nd/3rd-Level Support
