Job Summary

This role involves working as a Fermentation Specialist in pharmaceutical production, focusing on the automation of large-scale manufacturing processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and documenting production steps according to GMP guidelines, operating automated systems, preparing media, and performing sample analysis. The specialist will manage fermentation processes from cell culture to harvest, working with volumes up to 16,000L. A key aspect of the role is collaborating with technical and process automation teams to initiate, support, and test phase adjustments in automated systems. This position is attractive for professionals with a background in chemistry, biology, food technology, or brewing, who have experience with large-scale production automation and a strong interest in technical work within a GMP environment. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Technology; or a Master Brewer/Malter/Dairy Master qualification; or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in large-scale production facilities (ideally)
  • Experience with automation of large-scale systems
  • Deep understanding of GMP activities

Additional

  • Must be willing to work regular shifts (early, late, and occasionally night shifts), weekends, and on-call duties. Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment and wear required PPE (head covering, safety shoes, safety glasses, cleanroom clothing). This is a fixed-term position for 2 years.
