Job Summary

This role is for a Marine Engineering Technician within the Coastal Geology and Sedimentology division at the Institute for Geosciences, Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and support of marine technical equipment and laboratory facilities, including mechanical, optical, and hydroacoustic measuring systems. Key duties also involve managing the sample and sediment core storage, assisting in the development of new sensors and devices, and actively participating in national and international research expeditions. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly motivated international team, contribute to cutting-edge geomarine research, and engage in field and sea-based operations globally.
