Job Summary

This role involves working as an IT Criminal Investigator for the Nuremberg Criminal Investigation Department 5, focusing on combating cybercrime such as credit card fraud, identity theft, and hacker attacks. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing digital traces, independently managing cybercrime cases, participating in searches, securing and evaluating evidence, and conducting interrogations. The position also supports police crime prevention and public relations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to public safety by applying IT expertise in a law enforcement context, with the potential for civil servant status (Verbeamtung) and a comprehensive training program. The role offers a challenging and varied work environment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility within the public service.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Diploma (FH) degree in Computer Science (all specializations), Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Business and IT Security, or a comparable degree with coursework in databases, programming, algorithms, etc. (minimum 180 ECTS points).

Experience

  • At least two years of relevant full-time professional experience in the IT sector after graduation (advantageous)
  • Professional experience in digital evidence analysis
  • Experience in independent case management
