Job Summary
This opportunity is for a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a client in the Geneva area, taking ownership of their critical on-premises IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining high availability, robust security, and peak performance across server, networking, and storage systems. A key aspect of the role involves advanced administration of Windows and Linux servers, managing virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere and Hyper-V, and ensuring reliable backup and disaster recovery using tools such as Veeam and Acronis. You will drive efficiency through automation, utilizing scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible/SCCM). Furthermore, expertise in Active Directory, GPO, and access management is essential. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience, a degree in IT, and crucial exposure to Microsoft Azure, positioning you to help bridge the gap between on-premise systems and cloud capabilities. This role requires fluency in English and offers the chance to work in a demanding, compliance-focused international environment.
Required Skills
Education
Higher education completed, preferably a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing on-premises IT infrastructure.
- Professional experience ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of critical systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with migrations from on-prem to Azure.
- Experience designing and implementing systems for redundancy, failover, and continuity of operations.
- Work experience in an international environment is a plus.

- Travel to other sites (e.g., Bienne) is expected. Knowledge of compliance standards (ISO 27001, GDPR) is required. Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator and VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
