Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Imaging Module of the Core Facility Hohenheim, a technology and analytics center at the University of Hohenheim. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing samples for microscopy, troubleshooting and maintaining microscopes and other lab equipment, and instructing users on microscope operation and bio-image analysis. The position also entails ensuring compliance with safety regulations, fulfilling documentation duties, and communicating with external service providers for repairs and orders. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed training as an MTA (Medical Technical Assistant), BTA (Biological Technical Assistant), CTA (Chemical Technical Assistant), or another degree in a similar field.

Experience

  • Experience in preparing live and fixed samples for fluorescence microscopy
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of light microscopy, including fluorescence microscopy
  • Experience operating advanced fluorescence microscopes (LSM, widefield) is advantageous
