Job Summary

This role involves independently managing research projects focused on alternative propulsion concepts for heavy-duty transport and climate-resilient transport management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting funding applications, acquiring research projects, and conducting both service-oriented and contract research. They will also actively participate in designing and delivering lectures, supervising student theses, and representing the department in collaborations with industry partners and public institutions. This position offers the opportunity for doctoral studies and requires a highly motivated individual with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, eager to contribute to an interdisciplinary and international team dedicated to research and teaching in sustainable transportation.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diplom Uni/Master) in Electromobility, Transportation, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electromobility, transport planning, and traffic management
  • Professional experience with electrical drive systems
  • Desirable experience with large data sets and simulation software
  • Desirable experience with data analysis tools
  • Advantageous experience with digital technologies, especially AI applications

Additional

  • The position is initially limited to 2 years. The possibility of pursuing a doctorate is actively supported. Foreign university degrees require a credential evaluation from ZAB (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen) during the recruitment process.
