Job Summary

The Federal Office for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT) is seeking an Electrical and Telecommunications Engineer to join their Technical Operations team in Koblenz. This role involves coordinating and participating in planning and execution meetings for traffic technology measures, as well as planning and coordinating maintenance, repair, and inspection of traffic technology services and systems. The successful candidate will also manage spare parts, support local technical operations units with troubleshooting, and develop execution and resource plans to meet quality objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operation and development of critical infrastructure, including fiber optic networks and radio communication systems, for inland waterways in Germany, supporting the 'Traffic Technology 4.0' strategy.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Diploma (FH-Diplom) or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications/Information Technology or comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience as an Engineer
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in maintenance and spare part management of transmission systems
  • Practical knowledge in network technology, including configuration
  • Knowledge and practical experience in measurement technology and troubleshooting in transmission and network technology
  • Knowledge in planning and building transmission systems
  • Knowledge of procurement law (VgV, UVgO, EVB-IT)
