Job Summary
Join the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II) at the Technical University of Munich, one of the world's leading neutron sources, as an Irradiation Facilities Engineer. This full-time role involves the technical support, operation, and maintenance of advanced irradiation facilities, including procurement, repair coordination, and recurring inspections. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing new processes for existing facilities, as well as designing new systems and components in collaboration with other departments. A key aspect of the role is leading a team of 5-7 irradiation operators, organizing shift operations, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and ISO 9001 certification. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree (University/FH) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering, Physical Technology, Nuclear Technology, or similar field
Experience
- Professional experience in project management, plant/mechanical engineering, and/or team leadership (ideal)
- Experience in the construction and operation of plants and machinery
