Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Master Electrician or Electrical Engineering Technician to join DB Energie GmbH in Borken (Hessen), Germany. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of a central control center team, ensuring the stable and smooth operation of the railway's energy supply, including overhead lines, signal boxes, and stations. Day-to-day tasks involve meticulously managing the availability of 50Hz and 16.7Hz railway power supply systems, actively troubleshooting disruptions to ensure rapid recovery, and independently executing switching operations such as commissioning, monitoring, and logging. This position is ideal for someone passionate about contributing to Germany's fifth-largest electricity provider, helping the Deutsche Bahn achieve climate neutrality by 2040, and thriving in a supportive, collaborative 3-shift team environment.

Required Skills

Education

IHK Master Electrician or Electrical Engineering Technician (or near completion); alternatively, a completed electrical engineering apprenticeship with several years of professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical engineering (if not holding Master/Technician qualification)
  • Willingness to acquire Master Electrician qualification (if applicable)
  • Advantageous: Knowledge of railway energy supply, 15kV railway power grid operation, overhead lines, switchgear technology, protection technology, remote data transmission
