Job Summary

This role is for a Systems Engineer specializing in software and automation for industrial laser machines. The successful candidate will primarily focus on system engineering tasks, including analyzing requirements for new software functions, independently conceptualizing and implementing solutions, and developing NC functionalities and calibration algorithms. A key part of the role involves identifying and resolving control software weaknesses, as well as integrating and configuring decentralized functional units like galvanometers and laser devices. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities in electrical design, such as planning electrical systems, dimensioning components, and ensuring CE/UL compliance for machine documentation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to innovative product development within a leading company, working closely with mechanical design and optical process development teams.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or comparable; or successful completion of further education such as Industrial Master - Electrical Engineering, Industrial Master Mechatronics, or comparable.

Experience

  • Several years of profound experience in system development for industrial production and special machines (ideally)
  • Experience in electrical installation and assembly of industrial manufacturing machines
  • Knowledge of current standards in mechanical and plant engineering, ideally for laser processing machines (e.g., laser safety)
  • Basic knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, Router, Switches)
  • Broad experience in object-oriented high-level programming (ideally C#)
  • Proficient in current Windows operating systems, image management and distribution, and application software like MS Office
  • Knowledge in industrial automation and drive technology, e.g., EtherCAT, servo control, softSPS, and overarching communication (OPC-UA, REST, MQTT, MES architectures)
  • Pronounced understanding of measurement and control technology
