Job Summary
The Technical University of Dresden is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate/PhD Candidate to join the Technical Biochemistry professorship. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in Chemical Glycobiology, focusing on developing novel "precision tools" to investigate the role of sugar structures (glycans) in biological processes. The successful candidate will expand the "Bump-and-Hole-Engineering" tactic to new glycosyltransferases and develop new chemical precision tools, crucial for advancing disease biomarkers and therapies. Key responsibilities include chemical/chemoenzymatic synthesis of reporter molecules, contributing to scientific publications, supervising students, assisting with teaching, and laboratory organization. This position is ideal for an outstanding individual passionate about glycobiological research, offering creative freedom within a dynamic, international, and multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or Biochemistry
Experience
- Professional experience in chemical or chemoenzymatic synthesis or medicinal chemistry
- Experience in protein biochemistry and molecular cell biology (optional)
