Job Summary

Join the Bundeswehr as a Software Developer, contributing to critical digital projects within the Cyber and Information Space Capability Development Center in Euskirchen. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing project-specific software development measures, including creating and adapting applications at the source code level, debugging, refactoring, and optimizing performance. You will also conduct code reviews, developer tests, unit tests, and create comprehensive documentation. A key part of your day will involve troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving errors in both in-house and third-party developed applications, as well as evaluating problem reports and change requests. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or comparable IT-related fields.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in modern frontend software development
  • Experience in native app development with JetPack Compose and Kotlin (desired)
  • Experience in agile mobile app development with partial product responsibility (desired)
  • Experience in User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) (desired)
  • Experience with Jira, Git, Jenkins, and other professional software development tools (desired)
  • Experience with SCRUM, potentially as SCRUM Master, Product Owner, or Specialist (desired)

Additional

  • Agreement to participate in an extended security clearance (Ü2 level required). Initial temporary employment until successful completion of security clearance. Commitment to the liberal democratic basic order as per the German Basic Law. Agreement to participate in a medical examination (if required). Foreign educational qualifications require proof of recognition in Germany. Foreign language application documents require a certified German translation.
