Job Summary

The Waterways and Shipping Administration of the Federal Government is seeking a dedicated Electronics Technician to join the Elbe-Nordsee Waterways and Shipping Office in Wedel. This full-time, permanent position involves maintaining and servicing critical water level monitoring systems, updating software for data receivers, and ensuring the functionality of conductivity measurement networks. The role requires independent planning of various profile measurements, operating data acquisition programs, and performing maintenance on current meters. Candidates should possess a relevant electronics qualification, be certified as an electrical skilled person, and hold a Class B driver's license. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, System Electronics Technician, Communication Electronics Technician, or comparable qualification. Certification as an electrical skilled person according to DIN-VDE 1000-10.

Experience

  • Professional experience in maintaining water level detection systems
  • Experience with software updates and adaptations for data receivers
  • Experience in maintaining conductivity measurement networks
  • Experience in planning and conducting profile measurements
  • Experience in operating data acquisition programs (e.g., VISEA)
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of current meters (RCM9, Seaguard RCM)
  • Experience in configuring and programming measurement probes
