Job Summary
The Landesbetrieb Forst Brandenburg is seeking a dedicated Project Officer to join their team in Eberswalde. This role is crucial for planning, executing, and controlling field operations for the 2027 Carbon Inventory, integrating it into a comprehensive forest inventory concept for Brandenburg. Key responsibilities include preparing tender documents, training contractors, coordinating data collection, and conducting quality controls across Brandenburg. The successful candidate will also contribute to developing and evaluating forest inventory methods, utilizing geoecology and geoinformatics for data analysis, visualization, and dissemination. This position offers an opportunity to apply expertise in forest sciences and data management within a dynamic environmental context, contributing to vital ecological monitoring and research.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Forest Sciences, Geoinformatics, Environmental Informatics, or related fields (e.g., Forest Resource Management, Geography)
Experience
- Professional experience in forest inventories, forest management, forest monitoring, data analysis, statistics, geoinformatics, and/or applied forest research (especially in experimental systems, data collection, forest ecology, silviculture)
- Experience in organizing, conducting, and controlling field work
- Experience in preparing tender documents and coordinating contractors
- Experience with new inventory devices and practical testing
