Job Summary

The Friedrich Schiller University Jena is seeking a Certified Technician to lead their Building Automation / Measurement, Control, and Regulation (MSR) Technology team. This full-time, permanent position involves overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of building automation systems across over 100 university buildings in and around Jena. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing central building automation operations, providing technical guidance to a team of four specialists, and supporting TGA (Technical Building Equipment) operating personnel with troubleshooting. Key tasks include performing programming, error analysis, and fault resolution on software and hardware systems, assisting in planning system expansions, and coordinating maintenance schedules with external companies. This role offers a challenging and innovative environment within a dynamic university setting, requiring strong problem-solving skills and a service-oriented approach.

Required Skills

Education

Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfte:r Techniker:in) in Building Automation, Building Systems Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Supply Technology, or equivalent qualifications and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in building automation and MSR technology is beneficial, but entry-level candidates are also welcome.
  • Experience in organizing and overseeing operations, maintenance, and repair of building automation systems.
  • Experience in leading a team of technical specialists (4 employees).
