Job Summary
This role involves critical environmental response, focusing on measurements, sampling, and investigations during environmental incidents, fires, and damage cases across North Rhine-Westphalia. The successful candidate will optimize and advance measurement technologies and analytical procedures, maintain and calibrate lab equipment, and organize on-call services for the environmental administration's emergency control center. This position requires a strong background in chemistry or environmental engineering, a willingness to work outdoors under challenging conditions, and the ability to respond quickly to the service location. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or FH-Diplom) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a comparable relevant field.
Experience
- Initial knowledge in environmental measurement technology and on-site analytics for fires and incidents (advantageous)
- Experience in disaster control or (volunteer) fire department (advantageous)

- Health suitability for outdoor work under unfavorable conditions; Willingness to be on-call and reach the service location within approximately 30 minutes during on-call and regular service hours; Proximity to the service location (Essen) is required.
