Job Summary
The SMD Technologist will play a crucial role in optimizing and validating manufacturing processes for electronic components, specifically focusing on Surface Mount Device (SMD) and Through-Hole Technology (THT) assembly. This involves defining process parameters for various soldering techniques (reflow, selective, wave soldering), managing solder pastes and stencils, and preparing and assembling components. A key responsibility is programming and optimizing SMD placement machines (e.g., Fuji, Mimot) and providing training to machine operators. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering or related fields, strong technical affinity, and experience with production systems, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes. Required Skills
Education
University, College, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Communications Engineering
Experience
- Professional experience in component placement, soldering, and programming of placement machines
- Experience with SAP (MM, PP, QM)
- Experience with MS Office
- Experience with production systems
- Experience with process optimization (e.g., Lean, KVP)
- Experience with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC)
- Experience with rework procedures
