Job Summary
This role involves critical administrative and legal work within the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) in Germany, focusing on asylum procedures and country-of-origin information. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and updating internal guidelines, analyzing national and EU legal frameworks, and translating these into practical instructions for BAMF staff. Key duties include acting as a point of contact for asylum procedure inquiries, preparing reports for leadership, and participating in national and international asylum law events. Additionally, the role involves assessing country-of-origin guidelines for legal compliance and contributing to international cooperation efforts. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong legal background and an interest in migration and asylum law, offering the chance to shape fundamental processes within a federal agency.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma in Administrative Law, Legal Studies, Economics, or Political Science. Candidates expecting to graduate within three months of the application deadline are also eligible.
Experience
- Professional experience in evaluating national and EU legal frameworks and court decisions (ideally in asylum law)
- Experience in preparing official documents and reports for management
- Experience in participating in national and international events
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undertake occasional one-day or multi-day business trips within Germany and to European countries (approx. 1-2 times per quarter). Willingness to undergo a basic security clearance (SÜ1). For locations other than Nuremberg, Lebach, Karlsruhe, Sigmaringen, Trier, and Unna, full measles vaccination is mandatory. For candidates applying for a dislocated position, willingness to travel regularly to Nuremberg for initial training is required. For foreign university degrees, proof of comparability and recognition by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
