Job Summary

Join the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks at TUD Dresden University of Technology as a Research Associate, contributing to the cutting-edge Robots4ResQ project. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing advanced control and path planning algorithms for single and multi-agent robotic systems, particularly UAVs. A key part of your work will involve developing and training AI models for real-time object detection and tracking, alongside creating and managing high-fidelity simulation environments using tools like Gazebo and ROS2. You'll also research robust communication protocols for swarm systems and lead the development of practical demonstrators. This position is ideal for a proactive, team-oriented individual with a strong background in robotics, AI, and software development, offering the chance to publish research in high-impact international venues.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Electrical-Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field

Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience in software development with Modern C++ and Python
  • Demonstrable expertise in robotics software, particularly ROS, and simulation platforms like Gazebo
  • Strong foundation in control systems design, simulation, and implementation, preferably shown through projects with UAVs or other robotic systems
  • Practical experience implementing AI models for tasks such as object tracking or SLAM
