Job Summary
The German Institutes for Textile and Fiber Research (DITF), Europe's largest textile research institution, is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist. This role involves leading and managing research and industrial projects focused on biopolymer materials, high-performance fibers, and carbon fibers from renewable resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production, characterization, and processing of cellulose filaments and composites, scaling up processes to technical levels, and actively participating in acquiring third-party funded projects. Required Skills
Education
M.Sc. or Dipl.-Ing. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Process Engineering, or Materials Science
Experience
- Professional experience in project management and scientific leadership of research and industrial projects
- Experience in the production, characterization, and processing of cellulose filaments and cellulose-based composite materials
- Experience in scaling up process steps to technical scale
- Experience in the acquisition and collaboration on third-party funded projects
- Experience in supervising scientific theses
