Job Summary
The Bavarian Police Department North is seeking a dedicated IT Criminal Investigator to join their team in Fürstenfeldbruck, starting May 1, 2026. This crucial role involves independently investigating complex cases of cybercrime, including credit card fraud, identity theft, and hacker attacks. You will also leverage your digital expertise to support colleagues in traditional criminal investigations, ranging from drug offenses to violent crimes and terrorism. Key responsibilities include analyzing digital evidence, managing cybercrime cases, participating in searches, securing and evaluating evidence, conducting interrogations, and contributing to crime prevention and public relations. This position offers a challenging and varied role within the public sector, providing a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, with the potential for civil servant status.
Required Skills
Education
University or University of Applied Sciences degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science (all specializations), Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Business and IT Security, or a comparable degree with coursework in databases, programming, algorithms. Degree must have at least 180 ECTS points.
Experience
- Professional experience in the IT sector (desirable)
- At least three years of full-time professional activity relevant to cybercrime (for civil servant status, includes one-year police training)

- Must uphold the free democratic basic order as per the Basic Law. Must be law-abiding and have orderly financial affairs. Must not have reached 45 years of age at the time of appointment to civil servant status. Must pass a police medical examination to assess physical, mental, and psychological fitness for police duty. Must consent to and successfully complete a reliability check (pursuant to Art. 60a PAG). Initial employment may be as a tariff employee with the goal of becoming a civil servant. Must complete a one-year police-specific training course.
