Job Summary

This role involves overseeing the production process at the Ruhleben Waste-to-Energy Plant, ensuring efficient and safe operations. The successful candidate will act as a primary point of contact for their shift team, coordinating and executing lockout/tagout procedures for repairs, and minimizing downtime during maintenance or technical malfunctions. A key responsibility is evaluating operational measurements to identify and mitigate risks to personnel, third parties, and the environment. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and operating the fire alarm control panel and assisting with planning for conversion, expansion, and overhaul projects. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to Berlin's environmental goals within a stable, public-sector organization.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom (FH) / Bachelor) in a technical field or completed qualification as a Master (Bachelor Professional, e.g., Power Plant) with additional qualification in technical environmental protection. Ideally, training as a Fire Protection Officer.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in an equivalent role operating mechanical and process engineering plants, power plants, or larger industrial facilities
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience in shift work and weekend work
