Job Summary

The Scientific Collaborator, based in Bern, will hold a pivotal role within the Military Information Service (SIM), primarily managing the administrative and operational affairs of the J2 organizational unit, which supports Command operations. This position requires ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of tasks, alongside planning and organizing high-level events both domestically and internationally. A key focus is cultivating and maintaining strategic relations with foreign partner services, aligning activities with federal policy, and representing the SIM’s interests in crucial coordination meetings. Furthermore, the collaborator will be instrumental in advancing the strategic orientation of the Intelligence Cooperation (CI) area, defining objectives, and preparing essential strategic foundations. This demanding role requires exceptional analytical and writing abilities, a university degree, and high proficiency across multiple languages, contributing directly to Switzerland's security and stability.

Experience

  • Professional experience in managing organizational unit affairs and ensuring timely task execution. Proven ability to plan and organize high-level events both nationally and internationally. Experience in cultivating and managing diplomatic relations with foreign partner services. Demonstrated capability in developing strategic orientation and defining objectives for intelligence cooperation areas.

  • This is a fixed-term contract spanning two periods: mid-January 2026 to mid-February 2026, and July 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. Must be willing to work 80-100% for the Swiss Military Information Service (SIM) in Bern.
