Job Summary
This role involves hands-on work in materials testing and research within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology at the University of Siegen. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating metallographic and electron microscopic examinations, as well as maintaining and setting up testing systems. A key part of the role includes processing industrial orders, documenting results, and compiling reports. Additionally, the position involves guiding students and new staff in metallographic techniques and mechanical testing, supporting laboratory practicals, and managing technical equipment and consumables. Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Materials Tester, State-certified Technician, or a relevant university degree in a related field
Experience
- Professional experience in mechanical materials testing and metallographic examinations is required
- Experience in high-frequency fatigue and scanning electron microscopy is desirable
- Experience with occupational health and safety topics is beneficial
