Job Summary

The Eisenbahn-Bundesamt (EBA), Germany's federal railway authority, is seeking two Electrical Engineering Specialists for its Berlin office. In this permanent full-time role, you will be crucial in overseeing and approving railway signaling, control, and electrical (STE) systems. Your daily tasks will involve monitoring the maintenance and construction of STE facilities, reviewing execution plans, ensuring operational safety during construction, and accepting completed projects. You will also conduct commissioning approval procedures for various railway subsystems and contribute to the recognition and oversight of expert inspectors. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise within a vital federal agency, ensuring the safety and efficiency of Germany's railway infrastructure.

Required Skills

Education

FH Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a comparable field; or qualification for the higher technical administrative service in the federal administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in building and operating railway signaling, control, and electrical (STE) systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge of the technical interrelationships within the EBA is advantageous

Languages

  • Must be eligible for civil servant positions (Beamte) or seeking a tariff-based employment relationship. Must possess track suitability (G 25-Prüfung equivalent), which will be tested by the employer. Foreign educational qualifications require original and certified German translation, or proof of equivalence from ZAB/ANABIN database. Ability to work mobile and part-time is possible.
