Job Summary

The City of Velbert is seeking a dedicated Team Lead to oversee the administration of housing benefits and housing supervision within its Social Welfare Office. This role involves managing the processing of applications for rent and load subsidies under the Housing Benefit Act, ensuring compliance with the Housing Strengthening Act, and handling applications for housing eligibility certificates. The successful candidate will coordinate workflows with other benefit-granting bodies, implement digital structures, and prepare statistics and analyses. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a commitment to public service, offering an engaging and varied role within a supportive team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Business Administration or Bachelor of Laws in General Administration (formerly Diplom-Verwaltungsbetriebswirt/in or Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/in), or a completed administrative training including Administrative Course II, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration, particularly in social welfare or housing-related services.
  • Experience in leading and managing tasks according to relevant housing and social welfare laws.
  • Experience in handling complex cases and coordinating with various agencies.
  • Experience in implementing digital structures and preparing reports.

  • Initial appointment to a leadership position is for a probationary period of two years. Willingness to work outside regular service hours is required. Readiness for continuous professional development is expected.
