Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on cutting-edge research in biomedical technologies, specifically in experimental molecular imaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating gas-filled microbubbles containing mechanophores and therapeutic substances using microfluidics. A key aspect of the role involves investigating the local activation of these therapeutic substances both in vitro and through in vivo proof-of-concept studies. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a background in chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, or pharmacy, who possesses a strong interest in experimental research and developing new therapeutic approaches. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative research, gain hands-on experience with advanced techniques like microfluidics and mouse models, and pursue a doctoral degree in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field. FELASA B certificate or similar qualification (can be acquired during the project).

Experience

  • Professional experience in experimental research
  • Practical experience with microfluidics (desirable)
  • Practical experience with mouse model experiments (desirable)

Additional

  • Initial contract for 3 years with option for extension and promotion. Position is 65% of full-time (currently 38.5 hours/week). Start date as soon as possible. Must be eligible for doctoral studies.
