Job Summary
This role is for a Smart City Manager focused on IT project management and technical implementation, contributing to the digital transformation of Bad Belzig and Wiesenburg/Mark in Germany. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing Smart City initiatives, managing IT and digitalization projects using both classic and agile methodologies, and coordinating with software developers and service providers. Key responsibilities include overseeing the development of digital products like IoT platforms (ThingsBoard), LoRaWAN, and municipal apps, as well as conducting user training and evaluating digital tools for long-term usability. This position is ideal for someone with digital competence, a strong technical overview, and a passion for collaborative work, aiming to make digital solutions sustainable and beneficial for the community.
Required Skills
Education
University or university of applied sciences degree (e.g., (Business) Informatics, Software Engineering, Socio-Informatics, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Geography, Political Science) or comparable; alternatively, vocational training and professional experience (e.g., IT Specialist for Application Development, Digitalization Management Merchant, IT Systems Merchant) or comparable.
Experience
- Professional experience in project management using classic and/or agile methods
- Experience in coordinating software development projects (desirable)
- Experience with IoT platforms like ThingsBoard or open app/web platforms (desirable)
- Experience in designing, conducting, and evaluating training and support formats (desirable)
- Experience in preparing tenders and specifications, ideally in the IT sector (desirable)
