Job Summary
Join a collaborative team at the Joint Data Center of the German Pension Insurance, responsible for the secure and high-performance operation of core IT infrastructure. As a System Administrator, you will be instrumental in installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems and devices, specifically focusing on SAN directors, access switches from Broadcom, and Hitachi/Fujitsu storage systems. Your day-to-day will involve monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, planning and documenting IT operations, and contributing to automation through scripting. You'll also ensure the implementation of IT security measures in line with BSI standards. This role offers a dynamic environment with varied tasks, project involvement, and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, while contributing to critical public services.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor/Diploma/FH) in IT, or a comparable IT qualification, or a completed vocational training in IT with at least 3 years of additional professional experience, or comparable practical experience in IT with at least 3 years of additional professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system administration
- Initial professional experience in installing and configuring Linux server operating systems
- Ability to independently and systematically analyze and solve problems
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties, weekend, and night shifts
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to participate in early and late shifts (between 6 AM – 6 PM) and on-call duties. Occasional business trips within Germany (approx. three times a year). Willingness to undergo and successfully complete a security clearance (SÜ) according to § 9 SÜG.
